Thank You For Everyone’s Support Thank you to all the great curling teams, sponsors, ticket holders, volunteers, and organizers. It was another great event with Team Ursel edging out Team Middaugh in a close final game. It sounded like Bob and Wayne are looking forward to coming back next year but I am sure they would rather be in Team Martin’s position, winning the Brier and playing in the Worlds. Although that might be best for these guys, the fact that we host most of the top teams in the game at this event, makes it great for the fans to come out and see curling at its finest. Being one of the top Olympic Trial Points Qualifier Event can’t hurt either. Thank you again to all that made this event happen and such great fun to be involved with. See ya next year. |

And Then There Were Four An amazing day of curling. There was a tie breaker between Team Jordison and Team Geall who both finished the round robin in their pools at 4 and 1. Team Jordison had a great week, beating Howard in their final round robin game. But it was not enough as Team Geall went on to beat Team Jordison and move on to play Team Gushue in the Quarter Finals.
There were some great games in the Quarter Finals. Team Gushue and Team Geall swapped 3 point ends but it was Team Gushue who came out on top. Team Ursel came out in Brier form which gave Team Koe no chance to get going. Team Middaugh won against Team Howard giving Wayne some bragging rights over previous team mates Glen and Joe. Team Ferbey fought hard to take Team Stoughton to an extra end but when it was over Team Stoughton was on their way to the Semi Finals and a shot at a repeat.
Get out and watch the finals, tickets are available at the door. Don’t miss this event!
